Do This! Before Buying Used

Before deciding on new or used equipment, it could be helpful to answer the following questions:

  • What is your budget? What is the price difference between used vs. new?
  • What is the trailers intended use? Is it necessary to have all new components with warranty?
  • If leaning towards used, what is the current condition on the used trailer and how was it maintained? Why is the used trailer being sold?

If you are leaning towards a used trailer we would highly recommend you do an inspection of all major components especially the axles and brakes.  You don’t want to pay premium price for a used trailer and then find it needs repair work and parts added after purchase. If the used trailer needs repairs and maintenance you may be able to negotiate on the selling price.
